God want’s to bless you
One day a man was taken up to heaven by an angel.
He was shown around huge warehouses all staked floor to ceiling with boxes of all shapes and sizes with peoples names on them.
After visiting what seemed like thousands of such warehouses the man finely summoned up the courage to ask the angel what all the boxes were for. The angel replied that the boxes contained blessings that God had prepared in advance for the saints. The man asked the angel why some of the boxes seemed to be so old, the angel replied that those were the blessings the saints had missed out on because they were not ready to receive them.
John 1:16 For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another {and} spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing {and} even favour upon favour {and} gift [heaped] upon gift.
Jesus has given us every spiritual blessing when we were born again, it was a complete work not a half finished job. God equipped us for every good work, giving us all spiritual gifts, all the grace we will ever need and blessings which we cannot contain.
Isn’t that wonderful that God has made every spiritual provision for you and right now you have blessings waiting for you, and God longs to give them to you, but you need to be ready to receive them.
In our walk we start as babes in Christ and Jesus feeds us with the milk of His word. But we cannot remain babes forever, because as babes we have to be carried everywhere, and as we are quite large we slow down those who carry us – amen.
As young babes we need to be ready to take a walk of faith, we cannot read about taking a walk of faith and no one else can take this walk for us, but we need to take those first steps ourselves.
James 2:14 What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?
We need to apply the word of God to our lives, if the bible said that Jesus died for me and I am a new creation in Christ then no matter how I feel or what the devil says to me. I know I am saved because the word of God says so and I stand on the word of God.
You may say I still sin sometimes and I don’t feel saved!
Well you have to stop looking to your feelings because feelings change from day to day but God’s word stays the same forever – Amen
God also says that His grace is sufficient for you - Amen
2 Cor 5:7 For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervour; thus we walk] not by sight {or} appearance.
So now your taking that first step, and Jesus is calling you to Him the time has come for you to let go of how you feel and what you see, don’t look to the situation you need to look beyond your present condition.
Remember Jesus wants to give you every spiritual blessing but you need to be ready to receive it.
God wants to take you away from where you were when you got saved He wants to release you from that old life style and bring you into a whole new life. Jesus wants to increase you and bless you, but this will not happen if we limit Him.
We can be like the Israelites led out of Egypt into the wilderness; you have seen the miracles of God, but your tired and have become happy or used to where you are right now. Or maybe you are just going round in circles like they were because God has asked to deal with that something in your life, but you are refusing to listen to Him and are content to stay in that sin. Or you came so far with God pitched your tent in the wilderness and when God started to move again you missed it and are still there when you should have advanced so much further by now.
Don’t you want to get to that Promised Land flowing with every spiritual blessing God has in store for you?
Then you have to get out of your comfort zone and push into Jesus and tell Him that you want to go as far as He wants to take you.
Sometimes people pray to be blessed then start to complain when things get tough. Jesus has to first move you out of your comfort zone where you are quite happy living your own way, where everything is familiar and nothing is unexpected to new territory where you are no longer in control but now you are learning to lean on Jesus.
You will never get blessed being a sit on the side Christian being self reliant following your flesh, only by being a step out into the deep with Jesus Christian and relying fully on Jesus.
Luke 5:1 NOW IT occurred that while the people pressed upon Jesus to hear the message of God, He was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret (Sea of Galilee).
Luke 5:2 And He saw two boats drawn up by the lake, but the fishermen had gone down from them and were washing their nets.
Luke 5:3 And getting into one of the boats, [the one] that belonged to Simon (Peter), He requested him to draw away a little from the shore. Then He sat down and continued to teach the crowd [of people] from the boat.
Luke 5:4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul.
Luke 5:5 And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again].
Things sometimes seem impossible, it may seem like that situation will never change, or I can never do more than I am doing now.
This Job is all I can do, I’m not capable of doing anything else.
These are all lies because with Jesus all things are possible, nothing is impossible.
Now look where the blessings are coming from, the people on the side may have been blessed receiving His word but the real blessings were to come from being in the boat with Jesus.
Simon was about to step out and do something He had never done before,
To set out into the deep in the middle of the day with Jesus.
Simon sailed out into the deep on Jesus word, if He had said to Jesus no way what you are suggesting is crazy and had stayed on the side.
His whole life would have been very different and He would have missed out on not only the blessings of the fish, but his deep walk as a close disciple of the Lord and author of the New Testament
Jesus says in the word that we did not choose Him but He chose us.
Simon as an unbeliever because of the word he had heard from Jesus, because he recognised that Jesus was a great man of God, even though in the face of the fact it was the middle of the day and the chances are they would not catch any fish.
Also even though Simon had been up all night catching fish, and was probably about to retire when Jesus turned up, having caught nothing.
He decided to step out into the deep, in the middle of the day in faith with Jesus.
Luke 5:6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking,
Luke 5:7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
Jesus saw the need in Simon, and He blessed him with more fish than he had ever caught, because now He was no longer looking at his own experience as a fisherman, but was looking to Jesus. Jesus showed him that everything Simon knew about fishing, where he was governed by times and tides, these do not apply to Jesus for He is able to change the way things operate in the natural, because Jesus operates in the supernatural, in fact all things bow down to Him.
Jesus has total authority over everything; every situation there is nothing Jesus cannot do for you. The revelation that Simon received through this was the awesome holiness of Jesus and this totally changed his life.
Luke 5:8 But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
Luke 5:9 For he was gripped with bewildering amazement [allied to terror], and all who were with him, at the haul of fish which they had made;
Luke 5:10 And so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon (Peter). And Jesus said to Simon, Have no fear; from now on you will be catching men!
Luke 5:11 And after they had run their boats on shore, they left everything and joined Him as His disciples {and} sided with His party {and} accompanied Him.
With the blessings that Jesus has for us is a greater revelation of who Jesus is. Jesus wants to use you for His kingdom, He will equip you for every good work with every spiritual blessing you will ever need to accomplish anything He has prepared for you.
You can only receive this by active faith, hearing the word and acting on it, making it real in your life.
But you cannot receive these blessings by sitting on the edge as a babe in Christ you need to take a step of faith with Jesus and when He asks you, be prepared to step out into the deep with Him.
James 2:24 You see that a man is justified (pronounced righteous before God) through what he does and not alone through faith [through works of obedience as well as by what he believes].
James 2:26 For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.
God Bless
