Humility
What is humility?
The image of humility that comes to My mind is the Lord Himself baring His cross and carrying my Sins upon his back. What more could He do for us, when the King of Glory comes down from Heaven to die on the Cross because of me. Who are we to refuse when the Lord asks us to die to ourselves and to take up our cross and walk in His Humility?
Matt 10:38 And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me.
Take up your cross – lay down yourself and lift up Jesus.
Matt 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be my disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].
Take up our cross, die to our self?
Maybe you don’t know this but the Lord is doing a mighty work in you, he is the gardener
John 15:1 I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.
John 15:2 Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses {and} repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more {and} richer {and} more excellent fruit.
The Lord needs to remove the self from you, he needs to take out the dead wood and make room for the holy spirit. The Lord needs to remove those things from our life that do not bare fruit. There maybe parts of our life from our old nature which we are still clinging onto but which are not helping us to mature and grow fruit. God needs to remove these areas because they are stopping our growth. Maybe God is pointing at these things in your life but you have been hiding them away from everyone, maybe you have even allowed them a place in your life and accepted them as OK.
God is going to deal with that area of your life. If you hide it away you will stop the growth and you will be a child all your life. You will become the dead branches which are cast away into the fire. We did not become Christians to gain access to a club where we could sit down and play church. We became a Christian not for an easy ride but to thank Jesus for what he did on the cross for us and to experience the rich joy of God’s full anointing. You cannot play games with God, He is serious about you we cannot hide from God we have to turn all those private areas over to him so we can bare much fruit For God’s kingdom.
Are you baring fruit for God?
Are you in trials now or is everything sweet and rosy in your garden?
I tell you if everything is sweet and rosy watch out because you may not be baring any fruit for the Lord! Only when we are striving into the Kingdom of God and Hell is throwing everything it has at us can we raise our eyes to heaven and praise the Lord for the Gardner is hard at work. In fact the more fruit you bare the more pruning will follow so that you can bare even more for the Kingdom of God. Satan will only attack when you are a threat to him - Amen.
Luke 6:20 And solemnly lifting up His eyes on His disciples, He said: Blessed (happy--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you poor {and} lowly {and} afflicted (destitute of wealth, influence, position, and honor), for the kingdom of God is yours!
Luke 6:21 Blessed (happy--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you who hunger {and} seek with eager desire now, for you shall be filled {and} completely satisfied! Blessed (happy--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you who weep {and} sob now, for you shall laugh!
Luke 6:22 Blessed (happy--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, apart from your outward condition--and to be envied) are you when people despise (hate) you, and when they exclude {and} excommunicate you [as disreputable] and revile {and} denounce you and defame {and} cast out {and} spurn your name as evil (wicked) on account of the Son of Man.
Luke 6:23 Rejoice {and} be glad at such a time and exult {and} leap for joy, for behold, your reward is rich {and} great {and} strong {and} intense {and} abundant in heaven; for even so their forefathers treated the prophets.
We need the Lord to take the You out of you, your desires, your needs, your wants,
Your selfishness everything that was the old heart and he wants to put a new heart within you a changed heart. Take off the old man and put on the new, a new spirit within you amen. God wants to change us into the image of His son, and He can only do that by changing us from Glory into Glory to reflect His Son
But God still has a lot of pruning to do first.
Remember pruning is never fun but it is a necessity if you are going to become a powerful Christian over coming all forces that Satan can throw at you. If you are truly going to stand against the fiery darts of Satan then you need to be highly anointed and have more of God in you than You. So Let God take the you out of you and replace you with that new creation.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh {and} new has come!
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Lord I love you and want to make you completely the Lord of my life.
I know Lord that there are certain areas of my life which I have kept from you and not allowed you to touch Lord. Lord I now open up all the hidden areas and old parts of my life to you and ask that you will prune me Lord and remove the dead wood from my life.
Lord please remove the old me which does not bare fruit and place within me the new me the new creation and heart of flesh so that I will bare much fruit for your kingdom.
Teach me Lord your ways and remove from me my pride and help me to walk in humility
As you went to the cross in humility for me. Open my heart Lord to your ways and help me to follow you always by your Holy Spirit closer everyday.
In Jesus mighty name
Amen.
Jer 18:1 THE WORD which came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
Jer 18:2 Arise and go down to the potter's house,
and there I will cause you to hear My words.
God often takes us to the potters house in our walk with him because as a loving Father he wants to put us on the straight and narrow way. Sometimes when our life goes of track we need a visit to the potters house.
Jer 18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house,
and behold, he was working at the wheel.
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled
in the hand of the potter; so he made it over, reworking it into another vessel
as it seemed good to the potter to make it.
Jer 18:5 Then the word of the Lord came to me:
Jer 18:6 O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?
says the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand,
so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
As Jeremiah saw, we are but clay in the Lord’s hand but we must allow him to break us and mould us in a new way if we are to walk in His humility.
The Wonderful thing about the Lord is He will not give up on us and if we become marred in His hands, He will reshape us and carry on that good work that was began in you. Do not give up but look to Jesus and allow him to have total control of your life.
We are a living sacrifice for him, so take up your cross seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and God’s righteousness and all things will be added unto you to enable you to complete the race. - Amen
God bless
