LOVING RELATIONSHIP
Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, The first {and} principal {one of all commands} is: Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord;
Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God out of {and} with your whole heart and out of {and} with all your soul (your life) and out of {and} with all your mind (with your faculty of thought and your moral understanding) and out of {and} with all your strength. {This is the first and principal commandment.}
Mark 12:31 The second {is like it and} is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
The most important thing we can do in our lives is obey the first commandment fully we need to set God first in our lives, to make the Goals of our life based on what God would have us do. We are to put God first and no longer live for our own selfish desires. If we build God as the foundation stone of our life then everything we do should be set upon that stone. We need to change completely we need to turn around and take our focus off our wants and needs and look to the cross which is where we should leave them.
Eph 4:22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts {and} desires that spring from delusion;
The Lord wants to bring us into an intimate relationship with him. To allow God free reign so he can move into all circumstances of our life.
Rom 13:14 But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts).
But the things that are most important to us is where our heart will be.
We need to take stock of our life and to change. Instead of chasing after the things of this world, we need to focus all our attention and our heart onto the kingdom of God so we can partake of the new life and turn from the old life.
Luke 5:37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the fresh wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled and the skins will be ruined (destroyed).
Luke 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
Luke 5:39 And no one after drinking old wine immediately desires new wine, for he says, The old is good {or} {better}.
The old wine is the familiar the way we used to live but Jesus brings such a change in us that the old man now seems strangely alien to the new you.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh {and} new has come!
Rom 8:15 For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!
Rom 6:6 We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective {and} inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin.
Rom 7:6 But now we are discharged from the Law {and} have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained {and} held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life].
Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices,
John 8:32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
John 8:36 So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really {and} unquestionably free.
Matt 6:22 The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.
Matt 6:23 But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!
Matt 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by {and} be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).
If our heart is focused on the lusts and riches of this world then we will not be able to focus on the things of heaven.
The things of this world and the things of Heaven are opposites pulling in opposing directions they are not compatible and they do not mix.
Eph 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled {and} stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.
Loving the things of this world means loving yourself and your own pleasures ever seeking your own way, just living for yourself with no time for God. In fact in the place of God you have all excuses every reason under the sun why not God.
I’m not ready for that level of commitment, I’m too young, I’m to busy all these excuses.
But with God the commitment he wants from us is total.
Matt 7:23 And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].
You cannot have a part time God available when you want him, Jesus is not like that he wants to be the first, the Lord and center of your life.
Jesus wants to be your focus, you need to change your heart leave the non profitable things of this world which do not benefit you or bring any Glory to the Lord.
You cannot serve the world and God for things of this world lead to death and destruction where as the things of Jesus lead to eternal life, you must choose which path to walk.
Matt 6:31 Therefore do not worry {and} be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
Matt 6:32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for {and} crave {and} diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
Matt 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
You must take the walk of faith that he is calling you to let go of all you know and follow him as in the time of his disciples ‘follow me’ don’t look back put the world behind you and the cross before you.
Matt 10:38 And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not
Worthy of me.
Follow Jesus example in living giving up on your needs and investing in the economy of the Kingdom which is to give to him who has nothing with no return on your investment and you will receive the reward of your father who rewards your deeds done in secret.
Matt 5:44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Matt 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
Matt 19:19 Honor your father and your mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.
Love is more than a feeling, a want, a desire, love is the very essence of God himself. His divine being His very substance is love Jesus tells us
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies and be kind {and} do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting {and} hoping for nothing in return {but} considering nothing as lost {and} despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind {and} charitable {and} good to the ungrateful {and} the selfish and wicked.
1 Cor 13:6 It does not rejoice at injustice {and} unrighteousness, but rejoices when right {and} truth prevail.
1 Cor 13:7 Love bears up under anything {and} everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled {and} pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed {and} cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].
Yet the very essence of love is higher than man, it is God himself who reigns supreme
1 Cor 13:9 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect).
1 Cor 13:10 But when the complete {and} perfect (total) comes, the incomplete {and} imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).
Yet our knowledge of Him is still incomplete, even as He reveals His nature through His very word and spirit, we will not fully know Him or the love that He has for us until we meet face to face.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship {Him} in spirit and in truth (reality).
Love overcomes all things
But without the love of God.
1 Cor 13:1 IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1 Cor 13:2 And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths {and} mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).
1 Cor 13:3 Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned {or in order that I may glory}, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing.
All our so called good deeds that we do for others that are ultimately for our own ends or for praise from man, which are not carried out with the prompting and guidance of the Holy spirit are :-
Is 64:6 For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], and all our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy rags {or} a polluted garment; we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away [far from God's favor, hurrying us toward destruction].
But when we start to follow God and the love of God is within us then we shall bare good fruit the fruit of agape love.
1 Cor 13:4 Love endures long {and} is patient and kind; love never is envious {nor} boils over with jealousy, is not boastful {or} vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
1 Cor 13:5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) {and} does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights {or} its own way, {for} it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy {or} fretful {or} resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
Matt 7:12 So then, whatever you desire that others would do to {and} for you, even so do also to {and} for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.
Matt 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious {and} broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.
Matt 7:14 But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened {and} compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.
Matt 7:22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?
Matt 7:23 And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]
John 15:14 You are My friends if you keep on doing the things which I command you to do.
John 15:17 This is what I command you: that you love one another.
God bless
