Get Jesus in Your boat
Jesus had just been teaching on the Kingdom of God and the disciples had received revelation knowledge from His word.
They were in the will of God walking with Jesus, trusting in Jesus and they were receiving His blessings.
Mark 4:35 On that same day [when] evening had come, He said to them, Let us go over to the other side [of the lake].
Jesus directed them and they were moving in his will for Jesus is with them.
Mark 4:36 And leaving the throng, they took Him with them, [just] as He was, in the boat [in which He was sitting]. And other boats were with Him.
Then the storm comes, just when you’re walking, talking, living the life and receiving the blessings of God, you are noticed and the powers of Hell come against you.
When the anointing is upon you and your light is filling the darkness Satan is going to throw everything he has against you to stop you you’re a threat. He wants to quench that flame in you, put out your fire, dampen your spirit, and break your faith. God allows this because He wants to increase your faith, but if you give up at this point your blessing will be washed away. Satan knows this and he wants to break your faith. God allows him to touch your circumstances but still keeps a tight hold on his leash. If our faith fell at this first hurdle what type of faith would that be. God wants to try your faith to bring you through the Fire and purify your faith as gold. God can only do that by bringing you through trials.
John 15:2 Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses {and} repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more {and} richer {and} more excellent fruit.
It’s a test of faith, to see if you can believe beyond your circumstance, not to look at the natural and what is happening around you, but to put your trust in Jesus and allow Him to guide you through. Jesus knows your immediate needs He is with you, you wont perish, you have to trust Him, this is walking by faith.
Mark 4:37 And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat, so that it was already becoming filled.
You see when the trouble comes Jesus is not scared, He has seen every trial and temptation before, ‘A friend falls out with you, you lose your Job, and you may lose your house’.
How can this be? I thought I was in the will of God, this cannot be happening to me, Lord it says in your word that You are going to bless me. But here I am doing your work and everything is going wrong why?
It’s not what is happening right now that is important, For Satan is only touching your circumstances, the situation will pass, it is not unto death. What is important right now is to take this situation to Jesus and have the Lord stand in your storm.
Is your Jesus asleep? Are you trying to hold back the storm in your life by yourself or like the disciples are you going to take it to Jesus?
Mark 4:38 But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing?
They realized that the storm, was greater than them, and it was like no storm they had ever been in before and they were losing.
Remember they were fishermen; they were experienced sailors, who could have coped with any situation the sea could throw at them. But this was no ordinary situation; and they had a special passenger, Jesus.
This was no ordinary storm, this was a supernatural storm.
Satan was out to whip them and destroy the disciples but Jesus was not afraid. He knew what Satan’s plans were and Jesus was not afraid because He couldn’t touch that anointing or hurt those who were with Him. Jesus is so patient with us, but sometimes we have to learn the hard way.
Even though the disciples struggled in their own strength, they were getting nowhere. Even though they were in God’s will, God was not in their struggle.
What God not in their struggle?
They were struggling, they were panicking they had Jesus, but Jesus was asleep, He was resting in the sure knowledge of who He was and who His Father is.
The Disciples were over confident; they made the mistake of thinking that this was just some ordinary storm and they could handle it. The truth is that when you are moving with Jesus there is nothing ordinary about anything. Don’t start to think that now you are moving with Jesus you can face any storm alone. If you try that Satan will eventually whip you and leave your faith bruised.
Jesus wants us to rely completely on Him and not to attempt to serve Him in our own strength.
Mark 4:39 And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness).
Lets look at something here, they looked to Jesus he was not afraid, He did not just open his eyes and whilst still lying down, say “wind please stop and go away”. No in the midst of that storm when the boat was rocking violently, and water was crashing upon them and the wind was screaming about them. When the disciples were battered and could barely cling onto the boat with there lives, they were cold wet and could not move any more.
In that impossible situation Jesus stood up, or should I say He arose in his power and might, He stood not Just as Jesus, but as God almighty, in that storm. He may have laid his power aside when He became man, but Jesus took some of it back. He did not pray, He did not plead, Jesus did not ask, but Jesus just spoke the word and the storm ceased.
Not only did the storm cease it submitted to His will, it bowed down to the authority that is in Jesus Christ.
Jesus stood in the Authority of who He is, why should we fear?
Mark 4:40 He said to them, Why are you so timid {and} fearful? How is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)?
When you are walking with the God who created Heaven and earth and who spoke things of this world that were not into being. Then don’t try in your own strength as the disciples did, but let Jesus calm your storm. For with Jesus nothing, but nothing, is impossible.
Let Jesus be the rock in your storm and remember He alone has the authority and power to bring about that impossible change in your situation.
Remember just because you cannot see that blessing right now; just continue to trust Jesus, what ever comes against you hold fast because He is bringing you into your victory. He will deliver you from your sickness and bondage, He is going to break that burden off your back, He is going to break the yoke, and set you free.
He is going to bring you into victory in finances, Blessings and prosperity like you have never known.
Mark 4:41 And they were filled with great awe {and} feared exceedingly and said one to another, Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey Him?
Jesus has been showing me that He is involved in this ministry as much as we are, and He Has confirmed His word yet again, that He is going to do it all. In this mission we are all in the boat with the Lord together only difference is Jesus is not asleep, Jesus is steering this ship. And if God be for us who can stand against us – Amen.
God Bless
